Morning Routine as simple as the morning

There are lots of morning routine suggestions out there. The one that works for you might not be in the list of “Morning routines that billionaires follows”. And that does not matter, since we all need to find what gives us calm and joy instead of forcing habits on us that make us more tired.

Choose a routine that you genuinely like and enjoy; remember what works best for you is probably the one that is going to stick.

This routine gives me a calm and happy start to the day!

1. Wake up at…. My body is well rested’ O Clock 🐣

Your morning starts when you have completed a well rested sleep. Just because it’s a morning routine; does not mean it has to start at 4/5am in the morning. A well rested mind and body is crucial to having a good day. Please do not force yourself to wake up at 4am if you go to bed at 11pm; and try to get a good 7 hour sleep every night.

Listen and trust your own mind and body. Believe it.

2. Hydration Time 🚰

Drink up some plain room temperature water. Simple. Re-hydrate the body.

3. Freshen Up!

  • No one talks about this enough, but pooping daily is a crucial part of healthy living. Especially when it’s done in the morning. 💩
  • Oil pulling is a very effective practice well. You may try that or simply brush your teeth. 😬

4. Make your preferred herbal tea/ coffee ☕️

Personally I prefer to switch it up between these (mixed in room temp water)

  • Aloe-Vera juice
  • Wheat grass
  • Triphala
  • Lemon

5. Be comfy with your mind

You, yourself and you is all you got… oh and the tea/coffee. ☕️

While sipping on your morning beverage, be present with yourself. Just you. The news, music, emails, podcasts can wait. Don’t try to control the mind. Just let it flow.

6. Let’s get some exercise in 🙏🏽

Think of exercise as a way you thank your body. It keeps our mind and body more active. This can be anything you like: walking, boxing, biking, yoga; for a duration that works for you. Even a 10min walk is a good start 🙌🏽. You work that body! The body works for you!

Choose a sustainable workout over something extra challenging that might kill your workout motivation. The best exercise teacher is our body. Listen to your body

And remember -> It’s OK to not feel like working out sometimes. Don’t exert yourself if you need to rest.

7. Shower Time

Let’s wash off the sweat and get ready for a new day. Please do not forget to use sunscreen lovely people. We all need it!

Skincare can be therapeutic; the time I spend after shower doing my skincare routine while listening to a good podcast is like a mini self-spa time 💖🧖🏽‍♀️💖

8. Yummy In Da Tummy 🥑

Make sure you eat a delicious meal now! Food is indeed fuel for a healthy mind and body. And always remember healthy food does not have to taste bad. It’s worth the effort to make a good meal for ourselves. We deserve it!

Eat healthy and consume with a clean and positive intent

Tip 💡 : To save time on cooking breakfast; I usually prepare a chia seed pudding the night before. Just mix some protein powder + 2 tbsp of chia seeds + 1 cup of milk. Store in fridge overnight. In the morning your delicious pudding is ready for breakfast.

Protein Note 📝 : Having a high protein breakfast keeps me fuller for longer and also does not make me sleepy during the day(whereas high carb diet makes me feel tired). For protein quantity intake; some say if your weight is X Kg; you need ~ X g of protein in a day. That’s the general rule I follow for myself.
